Subscription failing on Google Pay

Hi. I’m having an issue to subscribe. My Google Pay account keeps telling me that my account region doesn’t match my current countries of residence. I’m sure that some people who travel a lot can relate to this problem.

I know your app doesn’t have anything to do with this. But as it is currently the only way to subscribe, I’m unable to and have no idea of how to fix it.

It would be nice to have another way to subscribe.

You can try making the payment by adding a credit or debit card. Alternatively, you could update your country or region in the Play Store settings. For detailed steps, refer to this article on how to change your country in the Play Store.

I already have a credit card linked to my Google Account (Paypal as well, so that’s not the issue). I’m a Brazilian living in the US but I travel to Brazil (and other countries) a lot, like more than 3 months per year. I keep two e-mail accounts from different regions on my Phone because I need apps from both countries only available on their respective play stores. But when I’m installing Travel Animator, for some reason Google Pay is not showing me the option to choose the US app store to perform the subscription, therefore I have this payment problem. You see, that’s the real problem: as the app doesn’t offer an independent subscription method like my credit card or paypal there will be issues that you can’t fix it. So it would be nice to have another way to subscribe.

I would really appreciate another way to make it work which doesn’t involve disrupting my Play Store setup which lays a long way beyond the scope of the app. Changing the country region on the play store doesn’t seem like a big deal until you risk disrupting other apps in the phone.

I’ve just noticed that the Travel Animator subscription offering screen already shows the App price in Brazilian Real (BRD) instead of US Dollar (USD).

I don’t know, maybe the app is just selecting the first Google Account it can find on the phone to submit the payment request and that could be why I am having trouble.

Just for the sake of it, I am perfectly able to subscribe to the Max streaming app in the US using my US Google Account just fine.

I am attaching a few screenshots to help understand what I mean.

The first one shows the app screen advertising the price locked in BRD. There is no option to show the price in USD. So I’m assuming that here the app might already have made its play store choice

Thanks,
Andre

This screenshot shows that when I select any option, I go straight to the Google Pay widget with a locked in price just with the option to change my personal payment method within the a specific Play Store.

I have both Brazilian and American Cards in this account, it doesn’t matter which one I use. Finally, I can select a payment method within the Google account, but I cannot change the account itself that will submit the payment.

I did validate my theory but I am still unable to use it.

I was checking the forum to see if anyone had the same issue and saw a moderator saying that if you sign in the subscription is tied to your account and you can restore in another device.

So, I spun up an android emulator, installed just the correct google account on it, installed Travel animator, signed in, then easily purchased the subscription. But even signing in with the same account on my phone I’m still unable to restore the subscription on it.

Can you please help to get the app working on my phone?

Right here there is a potential customer going a long way to try the product LoL. Otherwise I don’t see another option besides asking for the refund and give up.

Hey @andreluizdocantoport We’re currently investigating the issue and will suggest a solution as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Hey @Angel , any news on this? I chose the weekly subscription to test it, so it is going to bill me again very soon and I didn’t use the app once as a subscriber. Are you planning to refund me for the period? Are you close to a solution for my case? Or should I end the subscription and dispute the charge to get the refund as a simple solution for it?

Sorry for the delay @andreluizdocantoport. We have nothing to do with this issue. You might need to connect with playstore support team.

Just the response that every customer fears

What about those charges @Angel ?

Could you please try requesting a refund through the Play Store? Alternatively, if you can share the invoice details of your subscription to angelrose@lascade.com , I can issue a coupon code covering your subscription period so you can continue using the app with premium features unlocked. Hope this works!
